Delirium Argentum

The Delirium beers from Brouwerij Huyghe would have to be one the most iconic of all Belgian beers. The famous pink elephant with the blue label and the white bottle has always been found in well-stocked bars and restaurants in Belgium.

Delirium Argentum was brewed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Delirium Tremens where the label itself first appeared in 1988.

The name Argentum means silver in Latin which is inpart of the celebration of Delirium Tremens

For the occasion, the brewers at Huyghe decided to make a very special beer. Argentum is a Belgian IPA which is unorthodox from Huyghe. This may be since a large proportion of Belgian beer exports goes to the US but this is only speculative.

The beer has a red yellow (amber) color with nice dense white foam. It has a scent of spices, citrus, grapefruit and a touch of caramel in the nose. This is also reflected in the taste. The taste is rich and complex with a nice fresh and bitter aftertaste. A very luxurious and special beer that should definitely be tested by the beer enthusiasts out there.
